What materials and colors are used for the shelves?
The garage storage system, from the frame to the bars to the hooks, is made of heavy, high quality steel and the shelving material is 3/4" melamine. After we have cut and welded the steel to the Proper specifications, we treat everything with a durable, moisture resistant powder-coat finish. The powder-coating color is a soapstone or marble color, adding a clean and attractive appearance.
What if my garage is old/poorly designed and has areas where it will be hard to put racks?
We’ve tried to anticipate just about any situation. Whether you have a garage full of windows, tight corners, or awkward designs, we can create a layout that will maximize your storage capacity.
How high do you mount the shelves?
Because we try to get everything up and off the floor, the top of the shelving system is typically mounted at 6 ½ to 7 ½ feet high. The height of the shelf is determined by how much, and what, you have to hang and store. We also take a look at the home owner’s height and put the shelving high enough that there is no safety issue.
What kind of warranty is offered with the Gorgeous Garage shelving system?
Gorgeous Garages storage system comes with a life-time warranty on all shelving products. We are proud to say at Gorgeous Garage that in over 6yrs of business and with multiple locations, we have never had a product fail. This is just one thing that separates us from companies who sell cabinets and other wall mounted organizing systems.
Where can Gorgeous Garage’s storage system be installed?
The shelf Rack system has been installed in pantries, food storage rooms, basements, sheds, commercial warehouses, show rooms, retail stores, airplane hangers, cabins, shops, and, of course, the garage.
How is the shelving system mounted to the wall?
Gorgeous Garage Organizing system is mounted using a 3 inch lag screw that is screwed into the center of the stud. We have proven methods of finding the exact center of the studs to mount the shelves to. We do this to ensure that we find the exact center, thus maximizing your system’s potential. Lag screws are then tightened until the lag is snug against the shelf rack bracket.
Can you do anything with the space above my garage door?
Yes, Gorgeous Garage has developed an inverted bracket that can be installed over your garage door as long as there is 18 inches above the rail. This is valuable space that many people are not using. The inverted system is great for things like holiday decorations and other items that you only use once a year. The inverted shelf not only puts storage in areas that will not block much-needed light in the garage, but, because it “hides” the storage in little-known space, it also gives your garage a clean and organized appearance.

How do you prep the Garage Floor?
The Garage Floor is prepped by grinding the floor using a floor machine, grinding to the aggregate so the floor will feel like 120 grit sand paper.
What do you do about small cracks or joints that are in my concrete?
Cracks can be filled and ground smooth using our own crack repair. Our Crack repair cures in just minutes allowing us to grind areas with cracks and make them flush with the floor. If you have expansion joints seams in your floor we can fill them so you have a smooth seamless floor.
What type of Garage Floor do you offer? Epoxy or Polyaspartic Polyureas?
We have both systems, but your Polyaspartic Polyureas hands down are the best overlay for your garage.
What is an Epoxy floor system?
The Epoxy floor system is a two day process. On the first day you prep the surface to be covered and apply the Epoxy
Our Epoxy is a high solids, low odor material designed as a base coat for color chip flooring.Our Epoxy is formulated with an unusually high pigment loading for excellent substrate hide in a one coat application.
On the second day you apply the Polyurethane
Polyurethane is a high solids, two component, water-based aliphatic polyurethane. This unique material provides performance properties equal to conventional solvent-based catalyzed urethanes without the associated health and environmental problems. Polyurethane meets the 50 grams per liter California VOC limits.
This system is a one to two day cure time to walk on and four to seven days to drive on.
What is a Polyaspartic Polyureas floor system?
This system can be completed in one day consisting of preping of the surface to be covered and multiple layers of polureas.Polyurea is a two component, ultra high solids, aliphatic polyurea/polyaspartic hybrid. Unique new resin chemistry has provided the raw materials to formulate this coating that gives the desirable properties of polyester-polyurethane materials with greatly reduced odor and less film thickness limitations.With this system you can walk on the floor within a couple of hours and drive on it the next day.
Cleaning an Epoxy or Polyurea floor?
Epoxy/Polyurea is a non-porous coating so cleaning them is relatively easy. Most of the time a broom will work, but for a really good cleaning any garden hose with spray nozzle or even a pressure washer will work. You may want to squeegee out the excess water.
How long will my epoxy floor last?
The key to an epoxy floor is the preparation. With proper preparation and regular maintenance your epoxy floor will last a lifetime. It is recommended every couple years you reapply a new topcoat.
Is the epoxy/polyurea floor stain resistant?
Yes the epoxy/polyurea flooring is stain resistant. After a 24 hour test it was unaffected by the following: urine, blood, alcohol, black ink, gasoline, brake fluid, skydrol b-4, xylene, 25% hydrochloric acid, 25% sulfuric acid, 10% acetic acid. It is recomended that you promptly clean up any spills.

The Garage Storage System by Gorgeous Garage, also known as Monkey Bar storage system was invented, developed, and tested by Jared Newman in early 2001 through mid 2002. GG opened for business in Boise, Idaho in July 2002. It was also manufactured in the garage that it was invented in for about 4years before moving the company to Rexburg, Idaho. Gorgeous Garage is made up of four partners all taking an active roll in growing the company in various aspects. The Gorgeous Garage Team has lots of energy and has big plans for a little garage company.
How did Gorgeous Garage start?
Garage Storage was a problem for Jared Newman just as it is for all of you. Gorgeous Garage started by accident. Jared Newman had slowly accumulated toys, tools, and stuff. One day he realized he had a major problem on his hands: he couldn’t park his car in the garage, the very place it should have gone. Jared turned to what he new best and that was fabricating out of steel. He wanted an efficient shelf that would not utilize wasted space out of the way. He also wanted something that he could hang yard tools and bicycles on. After making the first system for himself, friends and neighbors started to recognize how neat and organized Jared had made his garage. Demand grew almost overnight and before long Jared realized he had a new business opportunity. The product of that grassroots venture is the national company we are today.
How did Gorgeous Garage get its name?
Jared noticed that it seemed like people would stuff or jam as much they could into that small, extra space. In many ways, he thought, people want to “gorge” their garage. So, Jared thought “Why not make a system the can not only ‘gorge’ a garage with every storage item imaginable, but also make it ‘gorgeous’ along the way?” Thus, Gorgeous Garage was born.
What distinguishes our system from others you have seen?
Not only is our shelving system more affordable, but it is better equipped to handle more weight. Our system is based on a two-tiered, storage philosophy: long-term storage on top, short-term on the rack. For every 4 feet of shelving, our system can hold 1000 lbs. That’s 250 lbs per linear foot! Our racks, which hang below the shelving, can carry about 200 lbs every 4 feet. Just as every garage owner is unique, every garage storage system should be unique. Based on your individual needs, we will help you move storage that has been lying around for years up and out of your way, making room to hang everyday items like yard and hardware tools, coats and clothing, bikes and recreation equipment. The result is, you have more space to park cars and move around in your garage.
Do I have to install this on my own?
No. We have a dealer in your area with whom you’ll be able to work with. Call your local dealer today to get an estimate and to plan out how we can transform your garage.
But if I choose can I buy the parts separately and install them myself?
At this time, we do not offer individual parts for retail sale. While we have tried to make the system simple and user friendly, it still remains a product that is best installed by a professional. Consequently, all of our dealers are trained and experienced in the installation of Monkey Ba Storage System.
I have a pretty busy lifestyle. How long will the installation take?
An installation can take any where from 3 hours to 8 hours to complete. We’ve designed our system to be up and running in an afternoon.
I really want some of the storage you offer, but I just don’t have enough “stuff” to justify getting a full-blown system like those pictured on the website. Can I buy only what I need?
One of the best features of our system is its versatility. Unlike other systems on the market, ours is created for YOU, the customer. This is not a prepackaged, everyone-gets-the-same-thing item. Your local dealer will help you assess the needs of your garage and plan your design around your own specifications. We will never sell you more shelving then you actually need; in fact, we may even talk you out of buying extra shelves that will clutter your garage, defeating the purpose of the system. Remember: we sell garage storage SOLUTIONS, not products.
Because of our commitment to your needs, the price of each system can vary. A typical system is about 30% to 40% of the cost of installed cabinets in the same locations. The average installed shelf system is about 24 feet of shelving with numerous bars and hooks for hanging items. Additionally, Gorgeous Garage is a dealer based company. Because of our commitment to independence, we allow our dealers to set a price according to their own criteria in their area. Consequently, actual prices will vary.
